Collaborative Learning

Dear students, one of the most interesting things of this project is that you will not be working alone. You will be working collaboratively, what means that you will always have support from your peers in the case you need it. It is also important to mention that your responsibility in the different activities will be essential since you will also be the support of your peers.

Some specific activities you will need to do as an essential part of your team are:

  • Participating in the forums on the topics proposed.

  • Expressing and sharing your own views.

  • Designing and creating audiovisual products.

  •

The different types of activities will require you to play different roles according to the groups´ needs and the different skills each member has. It will be great to see all your talents reflected in your final product.

Remember that working collaboratively means “…working together toward a common goal” (Dooley). This is what you will achieve.

In order to do so, you will assume the following roles*:

1. Project planner:  it is the one in charge of the project planning and the project progress monitoring through checklists and/or rubrics.

2. Communicator: it is the participant in charge of communicating with the tutor and also reporting progress of the project.

3. Editor: It is in charge of editing the reports collected from the other participants and organizing the final report.

4. Data collector: it is the one who gathers relevant information and share it with the other participants.

These roles and some others are necessary for the development of the Project and  will be a relevant factor in your work.
